Dar at a Day

The thing about black cattle is, they are just as hard if not harder than black dogs or cats to photograph.  If the light is not just so, all you get is a black blob of shadows.
Dar celebrates his first full day, and today, his first ever rain.  Yes, it actually rained, seriously rained!  Thunder and lightning, the whole schmeer.  Kinda neat, especially as we got most of the rock into the feederbunks so now we can see if we made things right, sort of anyway.
Enjoy.  Don't forget to click on the first pix to start the slideshow and see the full sized pix!

Dar streeeetches out to reach momma Hilda's faucets

You'd think Zamora was his daddy instead of his big half bro, the way he dotes on little Dar.  Which is more than I can say for little half sis Auroara, who started bullying him as soon as she saw him.  Guess she's making up for being the low calf on the totem pole for a month and a half

I know you can't see it, but that's a way cute butt there

  1. For a little bull calf, Dar has a very cute face! I think you could crop that second pic down to just Dar and Zam, be a cute pic.
