A Full On Ranch Dinner

It's the time of year when the garden meets the plate here.  We've been picking the 'Northern Xtra Sweet' corn for a few weeks now, and it's really hitting its stride.  The 'German Butterball' and 'Finngold' potatoes are just a small part of the harvest that's been going on for about a month, with 'Princess LaRata' and 'Russian Banana' fingerlings also in the mix.  And the piece de la resistance, a glazed meatloaf consisting of both Liza Jane and Porky the pasture pig.  If you've never had meatloaf this way, you might want to consider trying it.  Not drowning in fat, but mounded and then broiled without and then with the glaze, baked and rested, it's a masterpiece of taste and texture that will have you using your meatloaf pans for something else from now on.
