We Welcome the First Heifer

Misty did it again.  With her first calving, she calved a week early, in the middle of a snowstorm, and had twins (we sadly lost the little boy, but Liza survived).  With Zinger last year, she once again gave zero indication of imminent birth 6 days early.  This time, I went out to feed and immediately knew that two cows were missing, Misty and Zazu the baby.  And, I also immediately knew that Misty had gone and done it again, and she had.  Little Annika was mostly dry and fed in the early morning frost and quite the lively little girl, running laps around mom with her little tail up in the air.  At a few hours old.  She is a feisty little girl who is already 2 days old bossing her older brothers around, which is what sisters are for, after all
