The first (almost) all ranch feast of 2012. Start with a fresh salad with 4 different kinds of just-picked lettuce, 'Black Krim' heirloom grafted tomatoes, the first of the season, 'Cool Breeze' cukes and of course, eggs courtesy of the Gangsta Girls. For the sides, morning harvested 'Cheddar' yellow cauliflower and red and purple broccoli along with freshly dug just before cooking 'German Butterball' and 'Yellow Finn' potatoes, seasoned with kosher salt, pepper blend and extra virgin olive oil and started in the microwave, finished on the grill. Add the final touch, newly done up Hereford top sirloin steaks, courtesy of rancher Charlie down in Pleasant Hill. We're between butcher cows right now so we found Charlie and we thank him for raising some right fine, tasty beef.
