Crater Lake

Finally back to getting caught up a bit with the blog. The pix from the Crater Lake trip, presented in all their misty glory. Hey, you can see pix of Crater Lake on a clear day anytime on the 'Net - how about some foggy shots for a bit of drama? A bit disappointing, as I was really looking forward to seeing the legendary blue of the lake in person, but it's only a four hour drive from the ranch, so it's not like that'll never happen. These shots were taken with Dale's fancy camera and I didn't think to save them as smaller files, so if you have dial up, I don't recommend you even try to click on 'em.

The North Entrance, which closed for the season two days after this shot

You can see some hints of that blue here and there

How it all happened

A very cool rock formation on the west shore

More hints of blue

And a shot along Highway 138 on the North Umpqua River I just thought was pretty cool, taken with Dale's fancy camera so it's actually in focus
